FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I am located in nipaluna, lutrawita (Hobart, Tasmania), but travel all around the state to capture love and families.

  • My aim for your session is to keep things relaxed and fun to help capture those candid memories and allow you to be you and your family to be their authentic selves. Of course I don’t expect you to know the best light to stand in or what might look good on camera, so I always provide gentle direction to guide you into ideal situations. I think of this as more ‘prompts’ over holding static poses for a long time!

  • Outdoor sessions occur in Golden Hour - which in Tassie's daylight savings time means around 6.30/7pm and in normal time around 3.30/4pm. I know from experience that 7pm seems very late to shoot, but trust me the light is worth it and I promise I'll bring the fun and extra tips for babes/toddlers that might be out of routine!

For the brave - Sunrise sessions are available and are always AMAZING!

For indoor shoots (newborn/family) we can be more flexible with time and often these shoots occur in the morning.

  • I have plenty of beautiful locations across Hobart and beyond that we can explore, depending on the vibe you want. Once booked in, I will send through a list of locations that you can choose from. Alternatively, I am always open to shooting at spots that hold special memories for you and your family.

  • I am always here to guide you with outfit options and provide help or ideas. I have a client closet that mums are welcome to access and a growing childrens closet.

Once you are booked in I will send my style guide through to you to help with dressing your family!

  • In Tassie we know that we can get all four seasons in a day, but if the weather is looking dicey we will reschedule to the next available date that suits us both. We will make this call either the day before or the day of the shoot.

If you or a member of your family are sick and need to reschedule, I ask that you please give me a minimum of 24 hours notice so I can change the shoot. If under 24 hours notice is given, the retainer paid is forfeited.

  • Me too team, me too. The threenagers are no joke (like when does it stop… asking for a friend 😂)! But don't worry, I have plenty in my bag of tricks to make kids of all ages comfy and relaxed. I am also a teacher, so my patience with kids knows no bounds! I also remind my families that there are so many expressions to capture other than a smile. As the focus for our session is just you all being together and having a little adventure, you will find your kids will warm up quickly and then the focus is on just having fun!

For newborns - I have lots of tips and tricks to help settle babes and will share these with you before our session.

  • From the time of your shoot you will have your online gallery within 3 - 4 weeks, with your images able to be downloaded in both high and social media resolution. If you included a print/album package in your booking, these will be with you 4 - 6 weeks later.

Wedding FAQs.

  • I advise getting in touch as soon as you have a date, as even if I haven't officially opened my books I can add you to my waitlist so you have first dibs when it opens up! I am taking on a smaller number of weddings from 2025 so my dates will fill up fast.

  • I have a whole bunch of incredible Tasmania vendors that I can recommend if you need some help deciding on your team. Otherwise check out the https://www.thetasmanianweddingdirectory.com.au/ for a comprehensive guide of Tasmanian vendors.

  • Depending on how crazy things get, anywhere above 600 (6 hour wedding minimum). The number can vary depending on how many guests there are, how many hours I am covering and a few other factors.

  • Not at all! You get all the images, full size and sized for sharing without any watermarks.

  • Absolutely! I spend more time editing images than I do taking them!

  • I think you are beautiful just the way you are! But if a sneaky stress pimple appears, don’t worry I got ya!

  • Yes, 25% retainer within a week of your booking secures your date. After that we can work out payment plans or otherwise the remainder of the cost is due two weeks before your wedding.

  • Yes, I have public liability insurance and insurance on all my gear.

  • I sure do! Incredible quality art-books that will tell the story of your day. We work together on this process to ensure you get everything you want from your album from the cover to the end!

  • Luckily, I’m not really into fake poses either! Unless there are poses that you really want, I usually let things unfold naturally with just some gentle direction to get the most from the moment.
