I am a book reader, a family girl, a story-teller, a terrible (but enthusiastic) dancer who will probably be seen grooving round the dance floor on your wedding day, in a pretty serious relationship with my kitchen (I cook a mean green curry!) and in my deepest soul, a lover of love and connection.
I adore shooting weddings because it gives me a chance to tell stories through photography. I get so excited for every wedding I shoot, from finding the little details that make your day so completely you, to the big ‘bring on the tears’ moments. I feel extremely grateful that my job allows me, every time I shoot, to spend time with people’s nearest and dearest and I really value those connections.
Sophie Sullivan Photography came about because one day I decided to finally take a leap. A teacher by my first trade, I tell students every day to follow their dreams and never let doubt or uncertainty stop them. One day I realised that I wasn’t practicing what I preach and it was then Sophie Sullivan Photography was born. I turned my uncertain ‘what if’s…’ into ‘what if this could be my job for the rest of my days?’ And that is an idea that makes me very, very happy.
"Where do I begin? What an amazing talent! Before we get to photos, Sophie was so friendly and relaxed. Very professional, personable, imaginative and amazing with our guests and especially with my daughter Lyla. Sophie definitely delivered what we wanted!
We now how beautiful memories to last a lifetime!
If we could rate you 10 stars we would!
Thanks a million!"
"Sophie was recommended by a friend when we were searching for a photographer for our April wedding; and I'm so thankful she was! Not only is she a genuinely lovely person, and a great photographer, she was a joy to have at our wedding and with us whilst getting ready. It's a very personal, intimate day and Sophie was completely unobtrusive, patient and kind with us all.
Every photo has life. Every photo has weight. They all feel special."
My wedding photography style is what most would call ‘documentary style’, but with lots of romance thrown in! I work quietly, usually flitting between rooms or people, capturing things as they unfold, as authentically as I can. I aim to always capture the ‘moments between moments’. Those special places in your home, little looks, gentle touches, tears, gigantic smiles and even bigger hugs.
My aim is to capture you both, your family, and your day as naturally as I can, so that each photo represents the emotion and story of that moment. I want you to be able to relive the emotional memory of your day when you look through your photos; from they joy to seeing your partner for the first time all the way to laughing at the late night dance floor antics of your nearest and dearest.
Your relationship together has been full of millions of moments that lead up to your wedding day, all culminating into a celebration, a celebration that is completely unique to you and your story. I want my photography to represent that.
I want my business to be a place where you feel comfortable, happy and most importantly stress free in the lead up to your wedding. I will be there every step of the way, helping wherever you might need help.
